Who we are
Our festival.
Our community.

Hamro Mela means βOur Festivalβ in Nepali β a community-led celebration of Himalayan heritage in New York City.
Founded by the Nepali diaspora, we welcome all backgrounds for food, crafts, music, and culture. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we reinvest in programs that uplift our community and local businesses. Our mission is to pass on our cultural inheritance to the next generation while sharing the richness of our traditions with our neighbors.
Jackson Heights, Queens, serves as the perfect backdropβa global crossroads where our community has found a vibrant home. Through this mela, we gather thousands of Himalayan and local NYC residents to celebrate the shared bonds of folklore, art, and delicious culinary traditions.
